(Oct. 24, 19) — The Lionheart Pub, operating since 1992, will be opening a new brewery and bar with a ribbon cutting on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m in the newly renovated second-floor space at 448 Madison Ave. Owner Jerry Aumand credits provisions in the updated ReZone Albany zoning code allowing second floor commercial usage for helping ease the process. “This expansion allows for a more complete utilization of our space, opening the door to further investment and the addition of more employees. We applaud ReZone Albany and the tremendous support of Mayor Sheehan and the Common Council for listening to the needs of restaurants and small business in our corridor,” said Aumand. April 19, 2018 06:25 PM ALBANY - Lark Street in Albany is undergoing a renaissance of sorts. Five ribbon cuttings will be held in the next seven days, marking a total of nearly 20 new businesses to set up shop in the past year. The neighborhood has historically been bar and restaurant-heavy. However, the new businesses are more diverse and include a pet store, a barber, a boutique and a jewelry store. The manager at Bombers, a Lark Street staple, tells NewsChannel 13 different types of stores and restaurants will attract a new crowd, which benefits all the local businesses.
